Snowless Sledding

Yes, I know, but it’s true. The kids and I met up with some friends on election day to go sledding at Heritage Park in Canton, Ga. No fresh powder, or cold weather for that matter, just dry, slippery Bermuda sod.
It may sound lame to those of you who are blessed with snow in the colder months, but it’s so much fun for those of us who aren’t. Most people just use cardboard as a sled because it works pretty well, but we bought a bunch of saucer sleds. They’re more stable and you can stand up on them. That doesn’t work so well with cardboard. We’ve also tried our skim boards, but they can cut into the grass.
We had such a good time, we spent about four hours there that day.
