Blood Mountain-Meredith Emerson

We just wanted to take minute and express our condolences for the family of Meredith Emerson with the recent anniversary of her murder while hiking with her dog at Blood Mountain. Our thoughts and prayers are still with you. Because of her we are now certainly more cognisant our surroundings while hiking.
To all you hikers and campers out there a reminder to please be safe and when possible stick with others. If its not possible, please just be as alert as you can. Of course, we all hope this never happens again but unfortunately there are likely more disturbed, sick people out there like Gary Hilton and there are times when there is nothing anyone can do to plan for this sort of trouble like Meredith but we should not let this stop us from continuing the outdoor activities we are all fortunate enough to do.
