"WARNING to all fisherman and Kayakers." I read the blogs posted about the Reservoir and decided to put in my kayak and fish. Well to my suprise this is called criminal trespassing and you will be given a citation for criminal trespassing and a court date in front of the judge (this means you would have a criminal record if found guilty) if you are caught fishing or boating. Until the city decides how to capitalize on the new body of water the general public is not allowed to fish or paddle in the lake.

Note: A big thanks goes out to the officer & boat driver who educated me on the local law's & rules of the "Private Hickory Log Reservoir". Keep up the good work.

We have put in twice (second time today 6/6/10) at the creek entrance to the lake opposite end of the lake from the dam on Fate Conn road near Bluffs Parkway. Have you found out any more information as to when official access areas will be added? Send me an e-mail.

Well, I am a little reluctant to say but we ended up taking a dirt road past the dam on the parkway. I won't say much else except that you will need either 4wheel drive or at least a truck.
