Linville, North Carolina is home to some of the best the East coast mountains have to offer! If you are looking for a great spot to spend the weekend and you live in the Southeast, you should check out Linville. Grandfather Mountain has some very nice terrain for small hikes, a zoo the kids will love that sits high atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. There is a nature museum, picnic areas and great views spread out all through the park.

It is very close to Linville caverns and you could hit both of these recreational locations within the same day! It is also close to Sugar Mountain and Beach Mountain so those of you who ski/snowboard/tele can find all kinds of good stuff to do.

I will be checking out several of the campgrounds in this area over the course of this next year and will give you a run down of the good, the bad and the ugly.
