Kelty Rio Grande 8

The Kelty Rio Grande 8 is pretty big. Its basically a fabric RV. Not to say that’s a bad thing. If you have a family or like extra space, the size is definitely a plus. Once it’s set up, there’s plenty of room to roam around inside.
A lot of tents have decent center height, but lose it on the sides. Not this one! The height is 7 feet in the center and 6 at the sides so no crouching and crawling to change clothes or dig for your gear. The tent walls and floor are pretty sturdy as are the poles that stand up to high winds. It also comes with a bag that you can fit it back into without straining yourself so breakdown is quick & easy.
The downside is that it takes a partner or a good amount of effort to set up. It also has weak sleeves for the tent poles that look like they’re made of rip-stop fabric without the rip-stop grid. Ours ripped the 2nd time we used it, but we hung onto it anyway. Other than that it’s been a good tent and has served us well.
