Kelty Rio Grande 8

Its time for me to revisit an earlier review we did on the Kelty Rio Grande 8. We still enjoy the spaciousness of this tent for car camping trips but since that review the tent pole sleeves have ripped in two more locations! You might be saying, well don’t jam the poles in! Slow down a bit and ease em’ on in there. We do. I baby those things in there and it still rips.
The bottom line is that they should never have released this tent with these sleeves. We are going to use Ripstop repair tape or Kenyon Klear K Tape from Wal-Mart to see how that works and if it will buy us some more time with this tent. The point is though that we should not have to! What Kelty should have done is use the sleeves they used for Kelty Mantra 7 and just been done with it.
Do not buy this tent!
