2012 Trail Run Series

Attention all you trail runners in the North Georgia area! While at Boling Park running the trails recently I noticed an event announcement for the 2012 Trail Run Series presented by Nature Strides. This event will be great for kids of all ages. Post race snacks, custom race shirts and series awards available. Kids race free!

The first in the series, The Assault On Pine Mountain will be starting at Cooper Furnace Day Use Area in Cartersville. Therre will be two races, a 5k and 9 mile race.

The Battle of Allatoona Creek is the next race in the series. They will have a 5 mile and a 9 mile race. Much of the race will be single track along the Turtleback Trail.
Date: April 14, 2012
Location: Acworth, GA
Race #3 will be held along the banks of the Etowah River on the Etowah Trails. There will be a 10 mile race as well as a shorter 4 mile race. One of the things we really like about this particular race is that some of the proceeds from this event will be used for continued trail maintenance and efforts to continue building out the trail system with the help of Scout Troop 241.
There will also be a free half mile kids race for children 12 and under

Date: May 26, 2012
Location: Boling Park in Canton, GA
To wrap up the series the final race will be help at Olde Rope Mill Park in Woodstock. Runners can expect a little of everything on this run from river crossings to steep embankment climbs. There will be a 4 mile and a 10 mile race and a series finale celebration to follow.
