Old Growth Country

Happy Thanksgiving
Just went up to Bear Creek
in the Cahutta Wilderness with our new puppy Kaiser! He is 7 weeks old. We just picked him up last night and so we wanted to start training him right away to hike with us. So far so good, he seemed to love it and tired himself out so much that he fell asleep as soon as he got in the car which I understand is pretty typical for the young pups. He is a reverse Brindle Boxer and he’s already got some monster paws!
Bear Creek is a great spot for biking as well and only a short drive from where we live. If you head up there just remember some (leave no trace rules and have fun). Just over the bridge from the parking spot there is grove of old growth Hemlocks and Poplars
that have been spared from logging etc.. for some great cover from the sun especially in the heat of the summer and a nice spot for a quick camping trip.
