Campgrounds near Atlanta
Apr 20th, 2008 by admin
This weekend we were invited by our good friends to camp locally and the trip went great. We typically head a lot further north when camping and the lack of driving was a welcomed change this time. Red Top Mountain State Park campgrounds were actually laid out pretty well providing a good bit of privacy to many of the campsites. Where we stayed 47-50 was out on a peninsula of land that cut into the Lake with a cove on either side and a view of the surrounding hillsides. The drive only took about twenty minutes or so from our home. The sites are spacious and surprisingly well kept for a large State Park type campground. The weather could not have been better and time spent with friends made it well worth it.
Thanks Bill and Amy for a fun little trip. We will be calling you guys soon for the next one.
